Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, has announced that it has hired Gideon Schor as a partner based in its New York office.

Schor?s practice will focus on securities litigation, compliance matters, white collar crime, and internal investigations. He will join the firm on December 5, 2005.

?Gideon comes to the firm with a wealth of expertise in the public and private sectors,? said Chairman Larry Sonsini. ?With his experience in the investment banking arena and the U.S. Attorney?s office, he will be a true asset to our capital markets practice and adds to the tremendous strength of our national litigation team.?

Schor joins the firm from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), where he has served as director of litigation for the Americas since 2003. During his tenure, he was responsible for the financial services corporation?s civil litigation docket in North and South America, and worked with counsel at other banks on cases and matters of industry-wide application. He also lectures frequently on electronic discovery.

Prior to CSFB, Schor spent 13 years in the civil division of the U.S. Attorney?s Office for the Southern District of New York, where he was appointed chief appellate attorney in 1999. He supervised all of the federal government?s appellate litigation in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, including recommendations to the U.S. Solicitor General concerning Supreme Court review.

In 1989-90, he clerked for the Honorable J. Edward Lumbard of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Schor received a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1989, and an A.B. in classics and history magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1985.

?My experiences at both Credit Suisse First Boston and the U.S. Attorney?s Office have been invaluable,? Schor said. ?Joining Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati gives me the opportunity to expand my career in a new and challenging way. I look forward to working with a wide variety of financial institutions and corporate clients.?
