The firm, which is the largest full service law firm in Florida with over 400 attorneys and consultants intends to provide its Florida clients with expanded services in New York, to assist New York clients in both Florida and Latin America and to serve the New York market. The firm will develop its New York office with lawyers whose practices are consistent with the focus of the firm. These include the corporate, real estate, litigation and Latin American areas. The office will open with seven lawyers. Martin Domb, as Shareholder, will focus on commercial litigation in the areas of banking (lender liability, RICO, letters of credit, collections, and trade finance), international trade, insurance, maritime, corporate, securities, professional liability and a broad variety of contractual and business torts. His experience spans all aspects of alternative dispute resolution, including service as an arbitrator in NASD and NYSE arbitrations, as a court-appointed mediator in the U.S. District Court, S.D.N.Y., and as a member of the panel of mediators at the NASD. Prior to joining Akerman Senterfitt, Martin was a partner with the law firm of Hill, Betts & Nash LLP in New York for 15 years.
