Global expert services firm LECG (NASDAQ: XPRT) has named director Richard Boulton head of its global financial and accounting services group. Based in the London office, Mr. Boulton joined LECG in 2002 after a 20-year career at Arthur Andersen. He brings to this new role a wealth of experience in leading and managing professional services firms, including management positions at Arthur Andersen as global managing partner – strategy; the number two executive worldwide with management responsibility for all the firm's service categories, and global managing partner - business consulting, responsible for the firm's 11,000 person management consulting business.

LECG’s financial and accounting services group currently encompasses forensic accounting, damages and intellectual property, electronic discovery and bankruptcy/restructuring, as well as a focus on the financial services and healthcare sectors, including Bates Private Capital, the firm’s retail securities litigation unit acquired in 2005.

Collectively, the practices housed within the FAS group account for approximately half of LECG’s global expert services revenues.

Mr Boulton has over 25 years’ experience as an accountant and consultant advising on strategic, financial and economic issues and is also a practicing barrister. Mr Boulton has particular expertise in complex damage calculations and has acted as an expert witness in over 100 litigation matters, including many of the UK’s largest commercial disputes.  He has led a number of significant fraud investigations, including the criminal investigation into the collapse of BCCI on behalf of the Majority Shareholders. Mr Boulton has given oral evidence on more than 15 occasions in the UK High Court, Crown Court, Copyright Tribunal, and before various international arbitration tribunals and the Competition Directorate of the European Commission.

Mr. Boulton was a co-author of the bestselling business book, Cracking the Value Code: How Successful Businesses are Creating Wealth in the New Economy.

“We have a very successful and growing global financial and accounting services group at LECG” said Chief Executive Officer Michael Jeffery.

“Richard’s experience in managing a global practice for a leading professional services firm, combined with his personal expertise in intellectual property disputes and large forensic accounting investigations, make him the perfect candidate to lead the expanding global FAS group. His industry expertise, from both a management and expert perspective, is extraordinary and it is very exciting to have Richard leading the practice at this stage of its development.

Mr Jeffery continued: “Richard’s work as a global managing partner at Andersen is directly relevant to the responsibilities and projects he will oversee in his role as global head of FAS. He is a proven leader and practice builder with the necessary client service, resource management and career development experience to grow our FAS practice profitably.”

Mr. Boulton has an MA in Modern History from Oriel College, Oxford University (1978-1981), a postgraduate diploma in law (Distinction) at the College of Law (2002) and the Bar Vocational Course (Outstanding) from BPP Law School (2003).
