Digital Sandbox Bolsters Board of Advisors with Financial Risk Management and Security Experts


Robert Mark, James McDonnell and Christina Ray Join Board to Help Company Expand Leading Position in Public Sector and Move into Financial Services Market

Digital Sandbox, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions and services for predicting and managing risk, recently announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Advisors.

Joining the Board to help the Company expand its leading position in the public sector and transfer its proven software tools and technology into the financial services market are Dr. Robert M. Mark, Chief Executive Officer of Black Diamond; James F. McDonnell, Vice President and Chief Information and Security Officer for USEC Inc.; and Christina I. Ray, Managing Principal of Guarnerius Management, LLC.

Robert and Christina ? both financial risk management experts ? will provide a wealth of strategic insight to guide and accelerate our growth in this exciting new market.?

Dr. Mark is the Chief Executive Officer of Black Diamond, a firm that provides corporate governance, risk management consulting and transaction services. He serves on the boards of the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, IBM?s Deep Computing Institute, Checkpoint Canada and The Royal Conservatory. In 1998, Dr. Mark was awarded the Financial Risk Manager of the Year by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He is the Chairperson of The Professional Risk Managers? International Association?s Blue Ribbon Panel. The co-author of Risk Management, Dr. Mark earned his Ph.D. from New York University?s Graduate School of Engineering and Science. He also received an Advanced Professional Certificate in accounting from New York University?s Stern Graduate School of Business and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School?s Advanced Management Program.

Mr. McDonnell is Vice President and Chief Information and Security Officer for USEC Inc, a global energy company that supplies enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants. He is responsible for the strategic direction of information technology programs as well as overall physical and data security at the Company?s headquarters, in its Advanced Technology organization and at plant facilities in Kentucky and Ohio. Mr. McDonnell has 30 years of management and leadership experience in various segments of government and the private sector. Immediately prior to joining USEC, he was a director in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security?s Office of Infrastructure Protection where he directed national efforts to safeguard critical facilities and complex digital control systems. Mr. McDonnell, who led a distinguished career as an officer in the U.S. Navy, received his B.S. degree from the State University of New York, Albany, and earned a M.A. degree from Georgetown University.

Ms. Ray serves as Managing Principal of Guarnerius Management, LLC, a risk management consulting firm. She has consulted for major buy- and sell-side financial institutions since 1990. A registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), she also creates and executes interest-rate overlay strategies for hedge funds and other institutions. Ms. Ray has led a national security expert panel evaluating risks to the U.S. financial markets since 2001. Previously, Ms. Ray was a Senior Vice President at Daiwa Securities America, where she managed trading in OTC Treasury options and risk management for the Government Securities department. Prior to that she was a Senior Vice President and Manager of the Government Securities Options Department at Drexel Burnham Government Securities, Inc. Ms. Ray has a M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Michigan, and is the author of The Bond Market ? Trading and Risk Management, which is used as a textbook in the finance departments of graduate schools and in the training programs of certain primary dealers.

Katherine Hibbs Pherson, Chief Executive Officer, Pherson Associates, LLC and 2000 Central Intelligence Agency retiree; and
