Scouler & Company, the Los Angeles-based financial services and restructuring firm has added another senior executive to its team of seasoned financial executives, hiring John Rudd as principal. In making the hiring announcement, founder Dan Scouler noted that “the explosive growth of Scouler & Company has exceeded even our aggressive projections, a sign of both the economy and our reputation for innovative solutions. Ready to move on to new challenges, Rudd chose Scouler & Company because of its ethical approach to the turnaround business, varied client assignments and depth on the personnel bench. Rudd was a partner in Newmarket Partners, a financial advisory firm specializing in financial restructuring, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions and bankruptcy. He began his career as a corporate lender and workout officer for ING Group, before moving to the corporate world as CFO for a petroleum company, taking the refiner from $40 million to $400 million in revenue through acquisition.

Rudd’s two decades of financial sector experience spans industries as diverse as petroleum and petrochemicals, consumer products, automotive aftermarket, metals and technology firms. His consulting history includes holding fiduciary roles such as chief restructuring officer [CRO], receiver and bankruptcy trustee, as well as providing restructuring advisory services to corporations, bank group and creditor committees.

Rudd holds the M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in economics from the University of Minnesota. He resides in the Seattle area with his wife and three children, admits to being an intrepid Vikings fan, and despite the team’s history, is still waiting for them to take home a championship trophy.
