After eight years of serving in the U.S. Attorney?s Office for the Southern District of New York, former federal prosecutor Marc L. Mukasey has joined the New York office of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP as a partner.

Following are some of Mark Mukasey?s career highlights:

Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York ?97 to ?05 As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Mukasey investigated and prosecuted a wide range of federal criminal cases, including cases involving securities fraud, investment advisory fraud, mail and wire fraud, insider-trading, money laundering, RICO and murder.

He tried numerous criminal cases before Southern District judges and juries and developed a reputation as an aggressive and creative trial lawyer.

Among Mukasey's prominent trial victories was the June 2002 conviction of Alan Bond, a Wall Street money manager who was convicted of defrauding three pension funds for which he managed investments. Mukasey also practiced regularly before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.

In 2005 and 2003, he received the Department of Justice Director?s Award for Superior Performance by an Assistant United States Attorney.

Attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission ?93 to ?96 From 1993 through 1996, Mukasey served as a staff attorney at the SEC where he prosecuted a full range of securities law violations. Mukasey's career at the SEC was highlighted by the trial of SEC v. Stratton Oakmont in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.

Clerkship and Legal Education Early on in his legal career, Mukasey served as a law clerk to the Honorable I. Leo Glasser of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He received his law degree, cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1993 and earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1989.
