Hitachi America XBRL Business Unit Refines Product Family

Dr. Wilson So
Director
Hitachi America

Hitachi America, Ltd. XBRL Business Unit, which develops and delivers eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) solutions for corporate and government customers, has announced it has refined its product line to better serve the burgeoning number of XBRL users.

XBRL is now being adopted primarily for financial reporting; however, Hitachi America?s XBRL Business Unit believes that its enormous advantages will spur its implementation for everyday use in general company activities, such as manufacturing, procurement, sales, and human resources.

?Most XBRL offerings are highly technical and difficult for end-users to understand. Our refinement is designed to offer products in a way that anyone in the company -- not just financial executives -- can understand and appreciate their value,? said Dr. Wilson So, Director of Hitachi America, Ltd. XBRL Business Unit.

The Hitachi America XBRL Business Unit products have been refined as follows:

Hitachi XBRL Controller
Hitachi XBRL Controller is a server-based product suite for internal reporting applications, global ledger (XBRL-GL) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. At the heart of the Controller is our XiRUTE Journalizing Engine. A variety of complementary products are available for mapping, tagging, aggregation, and other data control functions.

Hitachi XBRL Reporter
Hitachi XBRL Reporter is a server-based product suite for external financial reporting (XBRL-FR), benchmarking, and analysis. At the heart of the Reporter is XBRL middleware Hitachi Business Reporting Processor (HBRP). Hitachi XBRL Reporter includes a variety of related products that provide value to customers for comparison and other data analysis functions, such as desktop tools for custom data mapping, tagging, and analysis.

Hitachi Xinba XBRL Consumption & Analysis Tool
Included with both Hitachi Reporter and Hitachi Controller, the Hitachi Xinba? Reader and Analyzer are desktop tools that offer users the capability of working within the familiar context of Microsoft? Excel, the standard for financial and numerical communications within the enterprise.

Hitachi XBRL Business Reporting Suite
Hitachi XBRL Business Reporting Suite combines Hitachi Controller and Hitachi Reporter to provide a proven, cost-effective way to access, manage, integrate, analyze, and report vital business information for the XBRL-enabled company. XBRL Services include taxonomy design consulting, systems integration services, and XBRL training.

HAL XBRL Business Unit delivers superior eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) solutions that improve corporate governance, restore shareholder confidence and enable market agility by delivering correct actionable data in real time.

Hitachi is a pioneer in the development of XBRL products and services for the financial and business communities at large. In addition to developing its own offerings, Hitachi partners with other firms ? including systems integrators, auditing firms, and service providers ? to create innovative XBRL solutions. The company has working partnerships with Merrill Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Hitachi America, Ltd. XBRL Business Unit focuses on developing business relationships with four types of companies: those who want to reduce their time for financial analysis and reporting; those with multiple divisions that are in a merger/acquisition process; those trading on foreign or multinational exchanges; and those that want to be perceived as leaders in technology adoption.
