Sarbanes Oxley : Technology : Change Detection

Who is Making Changes

Rosen Sharma
President and CEO
Solidcore Systems

Solidcore Systems Inc., a leading provider of real-time change control software, has announced that Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has selected Solidcore’s S3 Control™ software to automate the information technology (IT) controls and reporting needed to sustain compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley regulatory standard best-practices for their Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record Systems.

SOX compliance includes rigorous requirements for establishing and maintaining internal control over financial reporting, and requires organizations to disclose any material weaknesses found.  The Washington University School of Medicine was interested in following these requirements as a best-practice for their IT infrastructure processes and operations.  The school will deploy Solidcore’s S3 Control software to automate the data gathering and reporting for SOX controls.  Solidcore will be used to collect change data in real-time from a variety of servers and databases into a single repository, and enable the school to understand “who” made a particular change.  Solidcore S3 Control will automatically reconcile change data against the company’s existing processes and systems, and Solidcore’s change prevention capabilities will ensure critical files and configurations do not change outside of process – providing sustainable compliance and IT governance.

“Any organization working through the rigors of Sarbanes-Oxley must deploy real-time change control to improve efficiencies and reduce the overall cost of compliance,” said Rosen Sharma, president and CEO of Solidcore.  “Solidcore is helping many organizations like the Washington University School of Medicine quickly and cost-effectively automate their large number of SOX controls.  It is the only solution that can comprehensively audit privileged user activity, and Solidcore’s capability for proactively blocking unauthorized change can help organizations realize broader IT operational benefits beyond SOX.”

Column Technologies, a leading provider of BMC Software infrastructure management solutions and BMC Software 2007 Partner of the Year, has standardized on reselling and delivering Solidcore's S3 Control™ software with BMC Software's Business Service Management solutions.  Column Technologies will work with Washington University on the implementation of Solidcore’s S3 Control software in conjunction with BMC Software’s Business Service Management solutions as needed.
