“The list is not intended to prioritize the issues. What may be of greatest urgency for one board may not necessarily be the number one issue for another. However,” Ms. Wallace continued. “We do think that most boards will consider several of these issues simultaneously. In fact, we would strongly recommend it. Resolving any one of these requires significant resources and commitment. Unless boards keep in mind that a course of action for one issue will almost always impact the course of action for another, they could find that their decisions backfire, and no board wants to revisit an issue unnecessarily.”
