UHY Advisors Becomes SAP Services Partner

In an effort to further companies’ efforts to develop an integrated approach to their Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) needs, UHY Advisors has become an SAP services partner of SAP America, Inc.  As an SAP services partner, UHY Advisors will focus on software evaluation, consulting, systems integration, and continuous improvement services around SAP solutions for governance, risk, and compliance (SAP solutions for GRC). Services partners have the opportunity to co-innovate with SAP on its business process platform to increase business opportunities, develop new skills and capabilities, access information and knowledge, and engage more effectively with SAP to better serve customers.

“Our extensive experience in delivering GRC solutions has helped clients in many sectors gain a holistic approach to their GRC needs,” said Managing Director Dale Timmons of the UHY Advisors’ TAAS (Technology Assurance and Advisory Services) practice.  “Our knowledge and finesse around SAP solutions for GRC will only be enhanced by becoming an SAP services partner.”
SAP’s partner programs provide a strong foundation of support and collaboration that fosters unparalleled value and mutual business success for customers, partners and SAP.  The results are wide-ranging access to proven business solutions; rapid cost-effective installation and implementations; and complete life-cycle support to lower total cost of ownership and further increase customer satisfaction.

Governance, Risk and Compliance is an evolving best practice providing a more omnibus view of an organization’s risk profile not just from a regulatory and compliance standpoint, but in a way that can deliver process and profit improvement. In a study released by the Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG), 84 percent reported fragmentation of GRC activities and processes, and 65 percent claimed fragmented GRC caused serious business problems through duplication of efforts, redundant solutions, higher costs, and increased risk.

“Our approach to GRC allows management to gain a better picture of what’s ‘above the water’ in their organization,” said Managing Director Norman Comstock of UHY Advisors’ TAAS practice.   “In our experience, most companies have taken a patchwork approach to dealing with GRC issues.  Our framework allows for an aggregate approach for examination of the interdependencies of governance and risk.  In the new global economy, there are exponentially greater governance risks compounded by increasingly decentralized organizations.  Without the automation that SAP software solutions can provide, keeping tabs on every corner of even a mid-sized company, and the resulting risk, would be next to impossible,” he added.

This agreement with SAP, including support of SAP solutions for GRC, will allow UHY Advisors to provide solutions and services to more Fortune 500 companies, most of which are already SAP clients.   And because SAP solutions for GRC are  scalable for effective use for mid-sized companies, it allows UHY Advisors to service the dynamic middle market as well.
“In this post-SOX era, more and more companies are looking to convert their investments in compliance into a strategic and sustainable advantage,” said Comstock.  “But without an omnibus view of a company’s GRC needs, the silo approach most managers are trying to thwart within their organizations is only exacerbated.”
