Tizor Systems, a leading provider of enterprise database monitoring and protection solutions and Intellitactics, a leading provider of appliances and software for enterprise security information and event management (SIEM), recently announced a technology alliance to deliver integrated solutions that provide a comprehensive, enterprise-class approach to data security. The partnership was formed to address the market need for integrated enterprise-class solutions that can address major data security challenges such as core-database breach detection, insider threats, data outsourcing risk, and data compliance auditing and reporting. The partnership includes solution integration and joint selling, marketing, and customer service efforts.

Database monitoring and protection, sometimes referred to as database activity monitoring (DAM), addresses insider misuse of enterprise data, enforces separation of duties and catches data breaches at core database servers. Security information and event management (SIEM) provides for the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of data from security devices, operating systems, and applications to support real-time threat detection, incident investigation and management activities, forensic and historical analysis of logs, and internal audit and compliance reporting.

The partnership will enable enterprise customers to protect critical data assets, control data risk, and meet a range of difficult to address compliance requirements in an integrated and cost-effective way.  The technology integration between DAM and SIEM will provide automated security incident analysis, correlation, viewing, reporting and response across the enterprise—making security management and response more efficient and effective as well as saving valuable time for security professionals.   Enterprises will now have the ability to analyze a broad range of security events while also viewing database activity on a granular level.
“Both Tizor and Intellitactics are key elements in our data governance strategy.” Stated Dan Neal, IT Security Manager of WestJet, Canada’s leading low-fare airline. “The integration of these tools will provide us with greater reporting flexibility and granularity while reducing our administrative overhead.”

“Customers are increasingly requesting that we provide database usage data to SIMs. This market need for database activity monitoring and SIM integration was one of the main drivers for the partnership.” said Doug Mazlish, VP of Business Development at Tizor. “We are excited to be working with Intellitactics to provide our customers with a comprehensive, integrated view into their data activity.”

Sunil Bhargava, Intellitactics Chief Technology Officer explains the combined package value from the customer’s perspective: “Companies want to dig deeper into database activity. They also want to manage event response across the enterprise. Intellitactics and Tizor address this need with an integrated product offering which provides the breadth and depth of network and database activity that our customers are asking for to accelerate the threat-management timeline. Operations can monitor database activity in real-time, receive security alerts in real-time, and efficiently investigate suspicious activity. By compressing the ‘time to notification and time to remediation’ measures organizations can protect critical information assets from data breaches and insider theft while avoiding expensive and embarrassing security incidents.”

Tizor’s Mantra is the first product designed specifically for high performance database monitoring and auditing—capable of detecting anomalous user behavior across even the largest enterprise data center. Unlike firewall-based solutions, Mantra’s architecture balances sophisticated policy filtering, analytics and reporting capabilities with an intuitive user interface and policy language. This functionality enables rapid deployment across relational databases and data stored on file shares. Because Tizor’s Mantra database auditing and protection solutions deploy faster than other auditing solutions and policies are easier to generate and maintain, it offers a lower total cost of ownership. With Mantra enterprises can rapidly address database security, internal data governance and a wide range of external compliance requirements and standards such as SOX, GLBA, FFIEC and PCI.

Intellitactics Security Manager consolidates and analyzes data from security devices, operating systems, and applications to provide real-time threat detection, historical analysis for forensics, and compliance reporting. Security Manager centralizes security information and automates log aggregation, security event management, actionable alerting and incident response. One-click alert assessments and simple drill-down to the parsed and raw events provide contextual details for any alert under investigation. Further, Security Manager enables IT to streamline incident handling and provides hundreds of reports that verify and validate compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, or industry best practices.

Tizor provides the world's largest companies with the only enterprise database auditing and protection solutions capable of monitoring, reporting and alerting on all critical data activity across the enterprise data center - databases, file servers and mainframe applications. Tizor's global enterprise customers include financial institutions, insurance companies, retailers, manufacturers, healthcare providers and airlines, among others. These companies rely on Tizor's Mantra solutions to protect critical data assets, detect data breaches and provide data-related compliance, including SOX and PCI.
