Get Financial Conflicts of Interest Training

WeComply, Inc., a leader in web-based ethics and compliance training for employees, has announced a new course on "Financial Conflicts of Interest."  This 25-minute course explains the essential requirements of the federal Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) regulation, which was enacted in 1995 to promote objectivity in research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). All "investigators" – individuals responsible for the design, conduct or reporting of the research – are required to review these requirements annually.

The course begins with an overview of the FCOI regulation and a summary of the 2011 amendments to the regulation.  It provides definitions of key terms used in the regulation, an analysis of Investigators’ responsibilities under the regulation, and guidelines for FCOI disclosures. The course also includes a discussion of the consequences of noncompliance with the regulation.

“The 2011 amendments to the FCOI regulation impose new rules on research institutions and individual researchers mandating that they conduct their research in accordance with the highest ethical standards,” said Mike Pallatta, WeComply CEO. “Our new course will help researchers fulfill these requirements.”
