Guidance Software, (NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, has announced a partnership with Thales to deliver a full range of best-in-class endpoint security and incident response products and services to the UK market. EnCase products extend the Thales portfolio to identify threats that would otherwise go unnoticed, and to quickly perform incident response and recovery.

Thales UK is a recognised world leader in the design and supply of critical systems and resilient solutions that help governments, local authorities and civil operators protect citizens, sensitive data and infrastructure against complex threats. The company is trusted to safeguard critical national infrastructure including utilities, nuclear electric facilities, ground transportation and air traffic management, as well as to protect leading companies’ sensitive information: they are at the heart of the strategy raising the cyber defence posture in the UK’s Ministry of Defence supply chain.

Through the partnership with Guidance Software, Thales will offer EnCase security products in the UK. In addition, EnCase is integral to Thales’ new “Critical 48,” a 24/7 cyber incident response service. EnCase is the global standard in digital investigations for security and incident response, enabling companies of all sizes to quickly identify and mitigate security compromises, conduct internal investigations, and locate errant sensitive data across all endpoints including laptops and servers.

“Combining the market-leading products and services of Thales with Guidance Software enables us to offer organisations in the UK a complete, best-of-breed managed security service,” said Peter Armstrong, Director Cyber Security Sector, Thales UK. “This partnership equips Thales to complement its existing cybersecurity threat detection and assessment offerings with critical incident response capabilities. We can now answer at pace our critical customers’ questions: was the attack successful, was sensitive data compromised, how did they get in, and how do I fix it?”

According to a recent SANS Institute survey sponsored by Guidance Software, nearly half of all organizations are operating under the assumption that they have been compromised. Working together, Thales and Guidance Software help organisations quickly respond to attacks within the first hours and days of a breach, to contain the damage and collect evidence about the attack. Armed with EnCase products, Thales’ trained cyber specialists have the ability to effectively respond to any cyber emergency within hours.

“Our partnership with Thales enables us to combine the power of the EnCase products with the expertise of the Thales professionals to immediately address serious cybersecurity challenges faced by our mutual customers throughout the UK,” said Alex Andrianopoulos, vice president of Marketing for Guidance Software. “The Thales partnership accelerates the delivery of critical tools for the defense of corporations confronted with almost constant attacks wrought by highly effective attackers.”
