Rick Greenwood Joins Shavlik Technologies as CTO

Shavlik Technologies, a provider of software security solutions, today announced that it has hired Rick Greenwood as chief technology officer. Greenwood will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the planning and direction of technology projects for the company and for Shavlik?s technology partners.

?Rick?s experience will allow us to build and expand our security products line, helping our customers address their growing network security problems related to patch management, spyware and security management,? said Mark Shavlik, president and CEO of Shavlik Technologies. ?He has an extensive background in the information technology sector, including expertise in the development of standards to assure compliance with Gramm Leach Bliley, Sarbanes Oxley, FASB, and Data Access and Security regulations, which are some of the most significant regulatory issues business face today.?

Greenwood has more than 25 years of experience in the information technology industry. He has held positions in information data processing, technical analysis, and systems engineering within innovative technology companies including Control Data and Hewlett Packard.

Prior to joining Shavlik Technologies, Greenwood served as chief information officer for Residential Capital Group (RCG), a separate organization within GMAC RFC. While at RCG, Greenwood led the organization through substantial income growth and delivered IT systems that enabled the automated underwriting and pricing of more than 80 percent of the loans purchased by GMAC RFC. He also served as manager of IT applications at 3M, working on 3M?s top priority project, Supply Chain Management. This process focused on streamlining 3M business processes for manufacturing flow, demand planning, manufacturing planning and manufacturing execution.

Greenwood has been a speaker at seminars sponsored by CIO 100, Information Weekly, Microsoft?s CIO Forum, and International Business Objects. He has also been recognized as a technology leader by Microsoft for successfully using multiple Microsoft products such as .Net and BizTalk to build and deploy business systems using service-oriented architecture and transactional systems for business operations.
